I have been writing my entire life, trading short story blue ribbons from childhood for editor roles at college newspapers. After years as a staffed magazine journalist and tech company marketing pro, I became a full-time freelancer seeking new projects in the communication field. What does that mean for you? I’m committed to deadlines, focused on innovative solutions, and ready to help your brand kick your content up a notch.
For me, content is key. While I was a communication student at Saint Louis University, I created a fashion and lifestyle blog (OhJuliaAnn.com) to practice creating unique content on an ongoing basis. Eight years later, the site now reaches more than 15,000 readers each month and has been named St. Louis’ Best Written blog on three separate occasions. While I adore the work I do with my blog, I knew I wanted more in my career. After graduating magna cum laude from Saint Louis University, I took my degree and began working as a full-time staff reporter for a weekly magazine. While there, I honed my skills for writing, editing, and working on a deadline while gaining new abilities in layout and photo staging. After a few years, I moved to a booming education technology company to serve as a marketer; while there, I rounded out my media skills, adding abilities like graphic design and email creation. While I enjoyed the work, I didn’t want to stop writing. Instead, I continued to freelance on the side to continue my work as a reporter. In 2017, I took the plunge and moved to freelance full time and have been lucky enough to work with amazing agencies, small businesses, and nonprofits. Looking to elevate your message? I would be honored to help.
